Robert Cloyd Lawrence, 85, of Dover, Tennessee passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at Nashville, Tennessee. He was born August 3, 1933 in Hardin County, Ohio, son of the late Granville and Martha Baum Lawrence. Mr. Lawrence was a member of the Bumpus Mills United Methodist Church and the Order of the Odd Fellows Lodge. While living in Forest, Ohio he served on the city council and as mayor. He also served on the Forest Ohio Volunteer Fire Department. Robert loved fishing and collecting trains, and owned over 300 baseball caps.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, John Lawrence, and Joseph Lawrence, sisters, Barbara Clements, Shirley Lawrence, and Audrey Lawrence, and ex-wife, Dorothy VanBuskirk.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Sherry Day Lawrence, Dover, TN, sons, Larry Lawrence, OH, Robert Day, OH, daughters, Carol Gibson, OH, Bobbie Brauneller, OH, Lynn Day Allen, Big Rock, TN, Tammy Day, CA, and Kristi Borges, Nashville, TN, sister, Evelyn Martin, OH, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Anglin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday. His grandsons and great grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
